A worked example. The home connection bills on the first and nobody is there to pay it. You open Internet, pick the ISP from the list, and enter the account number from a current bill rather than an old one, because providers migrate account structures and an old reference simply will not validate. The name comes back correct. You pay the cycle, and the receipt records which cycle it was — the only detail anybody actually needs later.

Worth knowing

If the connection was suspended rather than merely due, expect a gap between paying and being back online. Settling the account is Kpali's part; restoring the service is the provider's, and it runs on their schedule rather than on the receipt's.
