Travel data
Travel eSIM
Are you traveling and need an eSIM before you land? Data for where you are going, ready before you land.

How to access
Home → eSIM → destination → plan → Pay → My eSIMs → install QR.
Recipient Your device (QR / activation code)
How to check My eSIMs tracks data usage, validity and remaining airtime/data per eSIM.
The app is the till — this page never takes payment. Store credit alone is sold on this site, by bank transfer on one page.
What it is
A travel eSIM is data for somewhere you are going, bought before you get there. There is no plastic SIM, no counter at the airport and no roaming bill arriving three weeks later.
You choose the destination, choose a plan, pay from store credit, and the app hands you a QR code and an activation code. Installing takes one tap on the phone you are holding, or a scan from a second device.
Once installed, the pack lives under My eSIMs, where the data used and the validity are tracked per pack — which matters the moment you are holding more than one.
Who it is for
People who land and want to be online before they reach passport control.
Travellers who move through several countries in a trip and end up holding several packs at once.
Anyone who has been burned by a roaming charge and decided never again.
Why this is hard from another country
Roaming is the default and it is the expensive one. The alternative used to be finding a shop at the airport, queuing with a passport, and swapping out a SIM you then had to keep safe for the trip home.
An eSIM removes the physical object and the queue, but it introduces its own confusion: people expect it to behave like a SIM card and it does not. It installs once, it starts counting when it first connects in the country it covers, and it needs roaming switched on because it is roaming — onto the local network, deliberately.
How to access it in the app
Home → eSIM → destination → plan → Pay → My eSIMs → install QR.
The recipient for this product is your device (qr / activation code). This product has no name lookup, so the review sheet carries the whole weight of confirming where it is going.
Nigeria, the United States, Hong Kong, Germany, the United Kingdom and Kenya are frequent destinations; the destination list covers far more.
How to buy it
The money path is the same shape for every product, but the detail below is this one's.
- Install Kpali and create an account. No bank account and no BVN are required to begin.
- Fund store credit with stablecoin. Choose USDT or USDC and the network. The warning about the network sits above the address because the wrong chain cannot be undone. The minimum is stated before the address appears. Put your own email in to be notified, or somebody else's to credit them instead.
- Wait for Home to show the credit. An address is not money; store credit is.
- Open Travel eSIM. Home → eSIM → destination → plan → Pay → My eSIMs → install QR.
- Check the recipient. Your device (QR / activation code) — read it back before paying.
- Read the review sheet. It states what leaves your wallet, including the fee, before anything is charged.
- Pay. If store credit cannot cover the amount plus the fee, Pay does not proceed and no provider is called.
- Keep the receipt. A QR code and an activation code on the receipt, and the pack itself under My eSIMs.
Nigerian bank transfer is a way in, on the website only: kpali.app/store-credit/ takes the transfer and loads credit that is spent in the app.
What decides availability
Destinations and plans reflect what can actually be provisioned. Each plan states the network it runs on, its size and its validity before you pay, so nothing about the pack is a surprise after purchase.
You learn what is possible before you commit, not after. An unavailable option carries its reason rather than vanishing.
What you pay
Plans are priced in USD against store credit. The plan screen shows the destination, the data, the validity, whether an identity check is required and whether the plan can be topped up later — before you pay, on one screen.
What is quoted is what is charged. When the total exceeds what you hold, the purchase stops there rather than half-completing.
What the receipt carries
The receipt holds the QR code, the SM-DP+ address, the activation code and the ICCID, so a pack can be installed on a device other than the one that bought it.
A refusal is clean: the money comes back and the receipt says nothing was charged. An unresolved outcome is different, and paying again is the one thing that turns it into a real loss. For travel esim, an order still being checked means the provider has not confirmed the a QR code and an activation code on the receipt, and the pack itself under My eSIMs yet — waiting costs nothing, paying again can cost twice.
How to check it worked
My eSIMs tracks data usage, validity and remaining airtime/data per eSIM.
Between Home, History and the receipt, no question about a purchase goes unanswered.
Mistakes people make
- Installing the eSIM twice. It installs once — giving the QR to someone else means sending it to them before installing it yourself.
- Forgetting to switch Data Roaming on for the eSIM line. It roams onto the local network, so this is required, not optional.
- Leaving Network Selection on manual, or a typed-in APN from an old setup, either of which blocks it.
- Panicking at No Service. On a data-only eSIM that is normal — turn Wi-Fi off and open a page to check.
- Assuming the clock starts at purchase. It starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in the country it covers.
Questions
When does the validity start counting?
When the eSIM first connects to a network in the country it covers — not when you buy it and not when you install it. You can buy and install days ahead, at home, on wi-fi, and nothing is used up.
Can I install it on more than one phone?
No. An eSIM installs once. If it is a gift, send the QR before installing it yourself.
Will I keep my normal number?
Yes. The eSIM is a second line for data. Your usual SIM stays in the phone; its data pauses while the eSIM carries the traffic.
What if my phone does not support eSIM?
Most handsets from 2019 onward do, and the phone must also be network-unlocked. The app says so before you pay.
How do I know how much data is left?
My eSIMs shows the data used against each pack, per pack, so several packs never blur into one number.
Can I buy an eSIM for someone else's trip?
Yes — send them the QR. Or fund their store credit with their email on the deposit screen and let them buy it themselves.
Can I top up an eSIM instead of buying another?
Some plans allow it and say so before you buy; others do not. The plan screen states which.
Does an eSIM give me a phone number?
These are data plans. They carry data, not a callable number.
The same money, spent differently
One wallet serves all of it. Moving between families is a change of recipient, not a change of money.
- Electricity — Prepaid tokens and postpaid bills, against your meter number. A prepaid token on the receipt, or a settled postpaid account with the receipt as proof.
- TV — Keep the decoder subscription running at home. A renewed subscription, with the bouquet and the period named on the receipt.
- Internet — Pay the home internet provider on time, every time. A paid cycle, with the account and period on the receipt.
No extra setup is involved in changing product. The shape of the review sheet follows the recipient and nothing else.
What you will see
What follows are photographs of the app itself, so the layout you read here is the layout you will meet. This page shows kpali travel eSIM country list with flags and starting prices; kpali travel eSIM destinations in dark mode with prices per country; kpali eSIM plans for the United States with data, validity and price before you pay; kpali eSIM plans for Hong Kong in dark mode; my eSIMs on Kpali tracking data used and validity across several packs; my eSIMs in dark mode showing an active pack at 87 percent used; installing a Kpali eSIM for Nigeria on this phone with one tap; and installing a Kpali eSIM for the United States in dark mode. Both themes appear, because the app follows the phone it is running on.
Where this sits
Travel eSIM is one of 11 bill and top-up families on Kpali, with Quick OTP counted separately, across 182 countries and 7 regions. There is no purchase on this website — these pages teach the app, and the app is where store credit is spent. Business API keys are coming soon and are not sold here.
If travel esim is not what you came for, the country you care about probably carries several of the other families, and the country page lists exactly which ones and says why for any that it cannot. Coverage is a fact about a country and a product together, never a vague promise about the world.
