Decoder & TV

Are you keeping the decoder running at home? Keep the decoder subscription running at home.

Choosing a mobile network for a data bundle on Kpali — TV · Kpali app
Real Kpali app screen. Figures on every screenshot reconcile to the same store-credit balance, and no personal detail is shown.

How to access

Home → country → TV → provider → smartcard/IUC → lookup → Pay.

Recipient Smartcard / IUC / account

How to check Receipt + History show bouquet, period and status.

The app is the till — this page never takes payment. Store credit alone is sold on this site, by bank transfer on one page.

What it is

Television on Kpali is a decoder subscription: the bouquet a household already watches, renewed on the smartcard or IUC number that identifies their box.

You choose the provider, enter the smartcard or IUC, and the account name is looked up before payment. Then you pick the package and pay.

It is one of the quietest things the app does and one of the most appreciated, because the alternative is a phone call and a bank transfer to somebody who then has to go and do it.

Who it is for

People renewing a parent's decoder from another country.

Households split across borders where one person handles the bills.

Anyone who has had a subscription lapse mid-season and heard about it.

People who bought a decoder for a relative and quietly took on renewing it forever.

Why this is hard from another country

Decoder subscriptions lapse on a schedule nobody remembers until the screen goes dark, usually mid-season, usually while the person who pays is in another time zone.

Providers build their payment flows for domestic customers, so a foreign card is refused more often than not, and the fallback — sending money to somebody at home — depends on that person having time to go and do it.

There is a second, quieter cost. A lapse is usually noticed by somebody who cannot fix it, which means the fix always involves two people, a phone call and a delay — for a payment that takes under a minute when the person who pays can simply do it themselves.

How to access it in the app

Home → country → TV → provider → smartcard/IUC → lookup → Pay.

The recipient for this product is smartcard / iuc / account. The smartcard or IUC number is looked up and the account name returned before you pay, so the renewal lands on the right box.

Nigeria and Ghana carry the deepest decoder lists; other markets appear as the catalogue supports them.

How to buy it

The money path is the same shape for every product, but the detail below is this one's.

  1. Install Kpali and create an account. No bank account and no BVN are required to begin.
  2. Fund store credit with stablecoin. Choose USDT or USDC and the network. The warning about the network sits above the address because the wrong chain cannot be undone. The minimum is stated before the address appears. Put your own email in to be notified, or somebody else's to credit them instead.
  3. Wait for Home to show the credit. An address is not money; store credit is.
  4. Open TV. Home → country → TV → provider → smartcard/IUC → lookup → Pay.
  5. Confirm the name that comes back. The smartcard or IUC number is looked up and the account name returned before you pay, so the renewal lands on the right box.
  6. Read the review sheet. It states what leaves your wallet, including the fee, before anything is charged.
  7. Pay. If store credit cannot cover the amount plus the fee, Pay does not proceed and no provider is called.
  8. Keep the receipt. A renewed subscription, with the bouquet and the period named on the receipt.

Store credit can be bought with a Nigerian bank transfer on one page of this site, kpali.app/store-credit/. No page here takes a card.

What decides availability

The provider list reflects what can be renewed today in that country. Bouquets are the provider's own packages, shown as they publish them.

What cannot be delivered is labelled as such in advance. A silent gap would be easier to build and much less useful.

What you pay

You pay the package price plus the stated fee, from store credit. The review sheet shows the total before anything is charged.

The total on the review sheet is the total. If it is more than your balance, nothing is attempted and nothing is charged.

What the receipt carries

The receipt names the smartcard or IUC, the bouquet and the period covered, which is what settles any argument about whether a month was paid.

If it fails definitively, the debit is reversed and the receipt states that plainly. If it is still being checked, leave it: a second attempt can become a second charge. For tv, an order still being checked means the provider has not confirmed the a renewed subscription, with the bouquet and the period named on the receipt yet — waiting costs nothing, paying again can cost twice.

How to check it worked

Receipt + History show bouquet, period and status.

You never need a fourth place to look. Home, History and the receipt cover it entirely.

Mistakes people make

  • Entering the decoder's serial number rather than the smartcard or IUC — they are printed near each other and are not the same thing.
  • Renewing the wrong bouquet because the household changed package since the last payment.
  • Paying past a name that does not match the account you meant.
  • Assuming the subscription starts the moment you pay rather than on the provider's own cycle.
  • Retrying while a receipt still says checking.

Questions

Where do I find the IUC number?

On the decoder itself and on the provider's own screen. Do not use the serial number — it is a different number in the same place.

Can I change the package?

You pick the package you are paying for. What the provider allows on a switch is the provider's rule.

Will the household need to do anything?

No. The renewal lands on the smartcard.

What if the name looks wrong?

Stop. The number is wrong. Paying it renews someone else's decoder.

Is there a web checkout?

Not for this. The app is the till; the website sells only store credit, by bank transfer, on kpali.app/store-credit/.

Can I pay for a decoder in another country?

Yes, if that country's provider is in the catalogue. The country picker decides what is offered.

Can I renew several months at once?

Only where the provider sells a multi-month package. Kpali follows the provider's own catalogue.

Does the decoder need to be on?

Renewals land on the account. Whether the box needs a refresh is the provider's process.

The same money, spent differently

Funding happens once. After that the product you pick is a detail, not a new setup.

  • Internet — Pay the home internet provider on time, every time. A paid cycle, with the account and period on the receipt.
  • Water — Settle the water utility bill on your account. A settled utility account, with the name confirmed on the receipt.
  • Gas — Pay the gas bill without standing in a queue. A settled gas account, recorded on the receipt.

Changing family is a change of form, not of money. The safeguards do not vary.

Where this sits

TV is one of 11 bill and top-up families on Kpali, with Quick OTP counted separately, across 182 countries and 7 regions. There is no purchase on this website — these pages teach the app, and the app is where store credit is spent. Business API keys are coming soon and are not sold here.

If tv is not what you came for, the country you care about probably carries several of the other families, and the country page lists exactly which ones and says why for any that it cannot. Coverage is a fact about a country and a product together, never a vague promise about the world.
