The situation

Subscriptions lapse quietly, usually mid-season, and the person who notices is never the person who pays.

Renewing against the smartcard or IUC from another country takes about a minute, and the receipt names the bouquet and the period so there is nothing to argue about later.

What Kpali does about it

Keep the decoder subscription running at home.

The steps are: Home → country → TV → provider → smartcard/IUC → lookup → Pay. The thing being paid is smartcard / iuc / account.

The name registered against it comes back before you can pay, so the money lands where you meant it to.

Getting there from nothing

  1. Put the app on your phone and sign up. A PIN and a way to reach you is the whole of it.
  2. Fund store credit with stablecoin. The network warning sits above the address; the wrong chain cannot be undone.
  3. The email field decides whose store credit this becomes. Choose it on purpose.
  4. Wait until Home moves before doing anything else.
  5. Home → country → TV → provider → smartcard/IUC → lookup → Pay.
  6. Confirm the recipient on the review sheet, then Pay. It does not proceed if store credit cannot cover the total.
  7. Keep the receipt. A renewed subscription, with the bouquet and the period named on the receipt.

The app does the work. This site explains it and sells store credit on one page, by bank transfer; that credit cannot be withdrawn.
